How to List Machinery So Buyers Trust Your Ad

Start with the facts a buyer searches for

Most buyers of machinery search by type, make and model, so put those in the title. A line such as "CNC lathe, brand, model, year" does more than a vague headline. Add the city, because buyers usually want to see a machine before they pay for it, and distance matters.

Describe condition honestly

Say whether the machine is working, how it was used and when it last ran. If something needs repair, say so. A buyer who discovers a problem at inspection leaves, and tells others. A buyer who read about it in the ad and still visits is already serious. Keep the wording plain: "runs, spindle bearing replaced last year" is better than "excellent condition".

Photograph what a buyer would check

Take clear photos in daylight. Include the whole machine, the nameplate with model and serial details, the control panel, and any wear-prone parts. Show the machine from more than one side. If you can, add a photo of it powered on. Avoid filters and crowded backgrounds, which make buyers suspect something is hidden.

List what is included

Write down what comes with the machine: tooling, manuals, attachments, spare parts, cables or a stand. Buyers often ask this first. Also say how the machine will be handed over, for example ex-works from your location, and whether loading help is available.

Be clear about price and terms

If you are open to offers, say so. If the price is fixed, say that too. Mention whether you want a visit before any advance and how you prefer to be paid. Avoid pressure language. A calm, clear ad reads as more trustworthy than one that rushes the buyer.

Reply quickly and keep the conversation on the platform

On OLM360, buyers message you from the listing and replies arrive in your inbox. Answer questions directly, share extra photos when asked, and agree an inspection time. Keeping messages in one place makes it easy to look back at what you promised.

A short checklist before you post

Check that the title has type, make, model and year. Check that the photos show the nameplate and controls. Check that condition, inclusions and location are stated. Check that your price and handover terms are clear. Then post your ad free in the right category so the right buyers find it.

Choose the right category

Machinery is organised by type on OLM360, such as manufacturing machinery, power equipment or textile machinery. Choose the most specific category that fits. Buyers who browse a narrow category are usually further along in their search.
